Today I went to the Puppetry Center (which happens to be one of my favorite places in the city). An actor friend is participating in the Xperimental Puppetry Theater project (XPT) that the center puts on each year. I was recruited to help make the puppets and sets, all of which are to be made of cardboard. The Play itself is based on the absurdist play Rhinoceros, in which all the characters are turned into Rhinoceroses through mass thought (I think). For anyone who has ever tried to build anything substantial out of cardboard, it's not nearly as easy as you might think!
