This is the self portrait I started yesterday after yet another morning of what feels like pointless searching for someone willing to represent my silly arse in the world of Children's illustration.
The problem I have found is that either you are insanely talented and then able to find an agency willing to represent you, or you are perhaps less talented but have an amazing head for business and are able to market yourself, or you've been published before, which somehow makes you more valuable than those of us just starting out. I fall somewhere in the middle, I am better than most, but not good enough that people are jumping to represent me, and I am completely crap at business and have no marketing skills what so ever. And as for being previously published? Thats something of a grey area.
....Theres something really funky going on with that eye up there, I should probably fix that.
